Basic Bookbinding Tool Kit

We recommend that you have a BBTK with the listed items below to bring to each of our get togethers. If you need help sourcing any of the items please contact us.

  • Cutting Mat (an old phone book or magazine can be used instead)

  • X-acto knife & blades; clip-point knife

  • Utility knife

  • Pencil

  • Rulers: see-through plastic & metal straight edge

  • Large-eyed tapestry needle (blunt) or #2 crewel needle

  • Clothes pins or binder-clips (5 or 6)

  • Glue Stick (we recommend UHU) and/or other types of adhesive, such as a PVA (you can get bottles of this at Spokane Art Supply)

  • Glue Brush & Waste Paper

  • Bone Folder

  • Awl (T-pin or thin sharp sewing needle glued into a bottle cork)
